FACILITIES & CONSTRUCTION CUSTODIAN LIAISON (Formerly Custodial Contract Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Extensive custodial knowledge, preferably as Head Custodian, Plant Manager, or Supervisor.
  3. Ability to supervise Custodian, I, II, III, IV; Head Custodians; and contract labor.
  4. General maintenance knowledge preferred (i.e. plumbing, electrical, painting).
  5. Knowledge and ability to develop and present training program.
  6. Ability to work flexible and varied shifts.
  7. Effective communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

  1. Knowledge of modern supervisory practices.
  2. Ability to assign and coordinate work flow among a large staff.
  3. Operational knowledge of institutional needs, especially custodial.
  4. Skills in allocation of manpower required to properly cleaned facilities.
  5. Technical skills for evaluation of chemicals used in cleaning.
  6. Human relations skills and ability to work with building administration and contract custodial providers.
  7. Good health and physical stamina.
  8. Available on a 24-hour basis for emergencies.
  9. Able to provide strong leadership in both custodial and supervisory areas through training and experience.
  10. Ability to operate a PC, including word-processing, computer work order system, and/or computer security system.

REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Maintenance

SUPERVISES: All Custodial Personnel as well as contract labor.

JOB GOAL:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain good rapport with employees and community.
  2. Direct the district’s custodial program: in-house and contracted.
  3. Supervise the procedures by which the security of all buildings is assured.
  4. Make recommendations for staffing and organization plans.
  5. Evaluate custodial staffing ratios.
  6. Conduct product and equipment evaluations.
  7. Develop in-service training for custodial staff.
  8. Assist in the coordination of the district safety program.
  9. Assist with emergency repairs.
  10. Participate in the selection and employment of custodial staff.
  11. Provide building principals with the performance evaluation of custodians or contract vendor.
  12. Be available to work various shifts.
  13. Other job-related duties as assigned.

SALARY RANGE: $35,000 - $45,000

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
