CUSTODIAN
IV - INTERIM
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High
School Diploma or GED must be attained within the 1st year of
employment. (Documentation
required). Contract will not
be renewed without High School diploma or GED by the end of the 1st
year of employment.
- Extensive
custodial knowledge, preferably as Custodian III or IV.
- Ability
to supervise Custodian I, II, III, and contracted custodial services.
- General
maintenance knowledge required (i.e. plumbing, electrical, and painting).
- Ability
to work flexible and varied shifts.
- Must
be able to climb ladders and lift and carry 50 pounds periodically.
GRADE: 15
REPORTS TO: Head Custodian
SUPERVISES: All custodial crews.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Establish
and maintain good rapport with students, staff, and community members.
- Communicate
effectively with in-house or contracted custodial services.
- Perform
daily scheduling of events and assist with any workload needed.
- Perform
regular maintenance program tasks as assigned (i.e. changing ballasts and
light bulbs).
- Inspect
school daily for vandalism, maintenance, and needed repairs. Complete and
submit inspection documentation as required (i.e. work orders).
- Possess
an understanding of and ability to monitor all electrical and mechanical
systems.
- Request
repairs to equipment and building as necessary.
- Order,
receive, and stock required cleaning supplies and equipment
- Perform
periodic inventory of all custodian equipment.
- Coordinate,
supervise, and participate in summer cleaning including sanding gym
floors, stripping tile floors, shampooing, etc.
- Coordinate
activities of contractors or volunteers doing work on campus with
Community Education, Facilities, PTAÕs, PTOÕs, and others.
- Other
job-related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year
to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance
with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services
Personnel.

criteria will be that of effectiveness and safety.
SKILL TESTS REQUIRED: Demonstrate ability to operate/maintain standard
cleaning and buffing equipment; ability to perform routine building
maintenance; knowledge of classified evaluation system.
