CUSTODIAN
II
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Custodial knowledge, preferably as Custodian I.
- Knowledge of duties of and ability to supervise
Custodian I’s and/or contracted services.
- Possess technical knowledge in the general
custodial area at higher level than a Custodian does I does.
- General maintenance knowledge required (i.e.
plumbing, electrical, painting).
- Have ability to climb ladders and carry 50
pounds periodically

REPORTS TO: Head Custodian
SUPERVISES: Custodian I
ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONS:
- Establish and maintain good rapport with
students, staff, and community members.
- Supervise night custodial personnel or
contracted services and fill in for head custodian on a limited basis.
- Assure assigned area is clean, safe, orderly,
sanitary, and secure before leaving shift (may require lifting up to 50
pounds. and climbing ladders to change light bulbs).
- Do special cleaning as required.
- Assist in coordinating facility preparation for
extra curricular and community activities.
- Assist with maintenance of school grounds (i.e.
raking, watering, trimming, etc.).
- Participate in thorough cleaning of school
plant and facilities during summer vacation and other periods including
simple maintenance duties.
- Lock and secure windows and doors.
- Report need of repairs to head custodian.
- Coordinate activities of contractors or
volunteers doing work on campus with Community Education, Facilities,
PTA’s, PTO’s, and others.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT:
Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the
Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job
will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation
of Support Services Personnel.

SKILL TESTS
REQUIRED:
Demonstrate ability to operate/maintain standard cleaning and buffing
equipment; ability to perform routine building maintenance.
