COLLEGE AND CAREER SPECIALIST (CLERK III)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
  3. Previous experience working with school age children.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  5. Ability to relate to staff and children in a positive and effective manner.
  6. Bilingual Spanish preferred

 

GRADE:  09

 

REPORTS TO:  Assistant Principal for Instructional Services

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain good rapport with employees, community and students.
  2. Coordinate College and Career Center, to include college and career information, scholarships, financial aid and other aspects of orienting students to post secondary life.
  3. Maintain college/career folder for all students.
  4. Personal interview with each senior regarding post secondary plans.
  5. Schedule visits for 2 and 4 year college recruiters and Armed Services.
  6. Assist students with financial aid information
  7. Match students to scholarships and financial aid opportunities.
  8. Compile data regarding scholarships and financial aid.
  9. Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten-month/five hours per day. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.

SKILL TESTS REQUIRED: Spelling, Mathematics, Filing and Typing.
