CHILDCARE COORDINATOR

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Recreation, Physical Education, or related

     field.

2.  Arizona Teacher Certification or Substitute Certification required.

3.  Experience with school-age children in a group setting.

4.  Experience training and supervising staff.

5.  Ability to relate to children parents and staff in a positive manner.

6.  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Community Education

 

SCHEDULE:  A

 

JOB GOAL: To provide high quality enrichment and child care experiences for

children 0 – 12 years of age.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.  Organize and direct the activities of the childcare programs for P.V.U.S.D.

2.  Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff.

3.  Maintain informative and supportive relationships with parents of the children

     and with the faculty and staff of the host schools.

4.  Supervise the running of the camp program.

5.  Oversee the procurement of materials necessary for the running of the

     programs.

6.  Provide accurate and timely information on the clubs, as needed.

7.  Maintain accurate records of enrollment and accounts receivable.

8. Maintain licensure under standards of the Child Care Licensure Division of the

    Department of Health Services.

9. Assure that the quality indicators of the National School Age Care Alliance or                           National Association for the Young Child accreditation system are well known and  adhered to by staff.

10. Complete a minimum of 12 verifiable hours of approved training per Department

      of Health Services regulations.

11. Other job related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, eleven or twelve month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with

provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
