CHILDCARE ASSOCIATE V (Previously
Mascot Manager and Infant Preschool Manager)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in
Recreation, Physical Education, Education, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three months
experience with school-age children in a group setting.
- Effective
communications skills.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Arizona Teacher
Certification or Substitute Certificate
preferred.
REPORTS
TO: Childcare Coordinator
GRADE: 18
ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Establish and maintain
good rapport with students, employees, and community.
- Design, organize,
direct and teach the activities of the Mascot Club program at the school
site.
- Plan, organize and
supervise the duties of the staff.
- Serve as liaison
between Community Education and the host school and staff.
- Participate in
providing the holiday and summer camp programs.
- Make necessary
arrangements to accommodate children with special needs.
- Acquire the materials
necessary to carry out planned activities.
- Monitor equipment to
assure that it is in safe working order, arranging for repairs or
replacement when needed.
- Attend and assist at
regular staff meetings.
- Participate in
interviewing and evaluating club staff.
- Maintain accurate
records of enrollment and attendance of the students.
- Achieve satisfactory
inspection reports by the Child Care Licensure Division of the Department
of Health Services.
- Assure that the quality
indicators of the National School Age Care Alliance are followed.
- Annually, complete a
minimum of 12 verifiable hours of approved training per Department of
Health Services regulations.
- Other Job related
duties as assigned.
TERMS
OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, eleven or twelve month year. Salary and work year to be established by
the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
