ASSISTANT COACH
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of the assigned
sport.
- Previous coaching experience
preferred.
- Such alternatives to the
above qualifications as the Athletic Director may deem appropriate.
GRADE: 31
REPORTS TO: Athletic Director
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Teaching sports techniques,
playing rules, strategies and playing tactics.
- Conditioning athletes
appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility.
- Supervising and conducting
practices and contests safely; supervising locker rooms and buses.
- Teaching sportsmanship,
cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to oneีs team in accordance
with the Pursuit of Victory With Honor philosophy.
- Monitoring athletes; school
attendance, grades and personal conduct.
- Instructing athletes in
safety procedures and in the need to report injuries to the Coach and
Trainer immediately; implement appropriate procedures for handling injury
situations; ensure the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit
and emergency care cards at all times.
- Managing uniforms, equipment
and school facilities in a responsible manner.
- Knowledge of AIA bylaws.
- Communicating with parents,
students, officials, administrators and community with regard to your
program.
- Perform other duties as
assigned by the Athletic Director.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary
and work period to be determined by the appropriate Region and the Athletic
Director.
EVALUATION: Performance of
this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy
on Evaluation of Athletic Department Personnel.
