ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I – DISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE CENTER

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Demonstrated general clerical skills and experience with MS Windows
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to utilize office equipment
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of switchboard and reception operations
  5. Possess good organizational and planning skills
  6. Effective communication skills
  7. Familiarity with legalities concerning confidentiality of records and information

 

GRADE:  11

 

REPORTS TO:  Executive Secretary to the Superintendent

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Demonstrate positive interpersonal interactions with all district staff and visitors
  2. Respond to community inquiries regarding district policy and general information
  3. Provide clerical and receptionist responsibilities for Superintendent’s Office and Public Relations Office:
    1. Assist with correspondence and incoming calls
    2. Prepare district mailings
    3. Clip newspaper articles relating to education
    4. Assist in preparation/distribution of Governing Board Meeting agendas
    5. Prepare letters to donors acknowledging gifts to the district
    6. Prepare letters to students who qualify for the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and maintain notebook
    7. Maintain Resolutions file and log
    8. Research proof of employment requests
  4. Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  nine, ten, or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Governing Board.

 

EVALUATION:  performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Governing Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Employee Personnel

SKILL TESTS REQUIRED:  Spelling, Mathematics, Filing, Typing (40 wpm)
