ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN I (previoulsy Accounting Clerk, and Accounting Clerk - Finance)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.     High School Diploma or GED

2.     Ability to operate routine office machines. Calculator usage a must.

3.     Experience with Microsoft Office products

4.     Effective communication skills.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience in and Accounts Payable office

 

GRADE: 13

 

REPORTS TO: Accounting Technician II

 

SUPERVISES:

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.     Establish and maintain good rapport with staff, community, and vendors.

2.     Perform back-up automated A/P duties.

3.     Perform general bookkeeping duties.

4.     Provide word processing and secretarial support.

5.     Responsible for distributing departmental mail

6.     Setup and maintain of A/P files.

7.     Archive old financial files and setup for new fiscal year

8.     Order departmental supplies.

9.     Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
