ARRA PARENT LIAISON - TITLE I

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Experience working with school age children
  3. Effective communications skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1.     Two year degree preferred

2.     Bilingual Spanish preferred

GRADE:  16

REPORTS TO:  Director of Assessment or designee

SUPERVISES:  N/A

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain a good rapport with students, parents, employees and community members.
  2. Strengthen Title I families and their involvement in the education of Title I students by encouraging parents to form a strong school-family partnership to support student learning, including partnerships with National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS), Arizona Parent Information Resource Center (AZ PIRC) and United Parent Council
  3. Participate in and provide leadership on the school NNPS Action Team for Partnership (ATP) and Family Involvement Action Team (FIAT).
  4. Contact Title I parents to remind them about conferences and parent night activities. If necessary provide Spanish translations/interpretations as needed for both meetings and paperwork to parents.
  5. Organize and help distribute any Title I parent/ student learning materials to be sent home. This includes photocopying parent newsletters provided by the Title Department.
  6. Help develop and distribute the Title I survey.
  7. Help review and evaluate Title I Parent Involvement Policy.
  8. Participate in and serve as a liaison for the United Parent Council (UPC)
  9. Inform parents about summer school programs and extended-day programs.
  10. Assist with program evaluation procedures.
  11. Other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Nine, ten or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Governing Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardÕs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
