PARENT LIAISON - TITLE I

- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with school
age children
- Effective communications skills

TO: Director of Assessment or designee
SUPERVISES: N/A
ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Establish and maintain a good
rapport with students, parents, employees and community members.
- Strengthen Title I families and
their involvement in the education of Title I students by encouraging
parents to form a strong school-family partnership to support student
learning, including partnerships with National Network of Partnership
Schools (NNPS), Arizona Parent Information Resource Center (AZ PIRC) and
United Parent Council
- Participate in and provide
leadership on the school NNPS Action Team for Partnership (ATP) and Family
Involvement Action Team (FIAT).
- Contact Title I parents to
remind them about conferences and parent night activities. If necessary
provide Spanish translations/interpretations as needed for both meetings
and paperwork to parents.
- Organize and help distribute
any Title I parent/ student learning materials to be sent home. This
includes photocopying parent newsletters provided by the Title Department.
- Help develop and distribute the
Title I survey.
- Help review and evaluate Title
I Parent Involvement Policy.
- Participate in and serve as a
liaison for the United Parent Council (UPC)
- Inform parents about summer
school programs and extended-day programs.
- Assist with program evaluation
procedures.
- Other job-related duties as
assigned.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year. Salary
and work year to be established by the Governing Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be
evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardÕs policy on Evaluation of
Support Services Personnel.
