The Role
of the School Nurse
The role of the school nurse is to
collaborate with the educators to provide an environment
conducive to learning. It is to assess and evaluate the
health and development status of the student; be the
health care liaison to the student; counsel, educate
and find resources to assist in the student's health
care.
We serve as consultants for the health
curriculum; provide screening programs for diseases of
the eyes, ears and teeth; keep immunization records;
assist in placement for special education programs; plus
act as the giver of first aid in an emergency.

Parents Remember!!!
Fifth grade students will be required to have their Tdap and Meningitis vaccines by the beginning of their 6th grade year.
