STUDENT COUNCIL

The Greenway Student Council is a very important part of Greenway Middle School. It is an avenue of communication between the administration, faculty and students. Each member represents a Social Studies class. Student Council members are often called upon to represent our students at various functions and are regarded as the student leaders of our school. Some of the activities that the Student Council organizes are:

• student dances
• community service
• campus programs
• and more!!

Student Council representatives are elected a few weeks after school begins in the fall. Officers are chosen by the faculty after all members have been elected.

MUSIC

Students at Greenway may participate in band, strings or chorus classes. Students in these classes will have opportunities to perform in the community during evening concerts, daytime field trips and in-school assemblies. Students in year long music classes fund their extra activities by designing and purchasing their uniforms. For students interested in instrumental music, a variety of band and string orchestra classes are offered. The four bands offered are: Beginning Band, Cadet Band, Concert Band and Jazz Band. Two string orchestra classes are offered at Greenway. These groups are for both seventh and eighth grade students. Some school instruments are available for use by students.

INTRAMURALS

Need something to do after school? The intramural/interscholastic program at Greenway Middle School provides students with a variety of activities which build athletic, leadership, academic and personal skills through clubs and sports activities. Pay close attention to announcements to learn details about interscholastic sports.

TAX CREDIT

Tax Credit is a chance to make an important contribution to education at our school and receive an income tax credit for the full amount you contribute up to $200 (or $250 per married couple). Activities eligible for the tax credit are school-sponsored extracurricular educational or recreational activities that supplement the educational program and require enrolled students to pay a fee in order to participate. Field trips are eligible for the Tax Credit if a majority of the time is outside the regular school day. Students must pay a fee in order to participate. Activities run by parent organizations, outside vendors, or not-for-profit groups are not eligible for the tax credit. Intramural and festival sports are eligible. Tax Credit monies must be brought directly to the school office for a tax credit receipt, or mailed directly to the school or district. Please see the school office for more information.
