Grades
3-6 (or 4-6) content replacement daily with gifted specialist
Content replacement services are provided to gifted
students in grades 4-6 (or 3-6, depending upon the school).
Gifted students in these grades receive instruction in
mathematics and/or reading, depending upon their area(s)
of identification. Students receive this instruction
daily with the gifted specialist at their home school.
Curriculum in these content areas is accelerated to an
appropriately challenging level.
In reading, students receive instruction through literature
and composition. Students move beyond the regular reading
curriculum to learn advanced analysis and critical thinking.
In math, students pursue topics such as probability,
statistics, algebra, and geometry at advanced levels.
Gifted students receive instruction that is differentiated
in content, process, product, learning environment and
assessment.
Areas of Differentiated Instruction include:

curriculum

testing out-of-grade level curriculum
All gifted identified students in the elementary grades
receive extension of the grade level curriculum and enrichment
through the development of:
- logical thinking
- reasoning skills
- critical and creative thinking
- problem solving
