Parenting Skills Group

Desert Shadows Elementary parents are invited to attend the parenting skills group at Desert Shadows Middle School. The group meets on Wednesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. starting September 2 and continuing through March 24, 2010.

The topic for the group will change each month: September - Self-Esteem; October - Managing Anxiety; November - Self-Acceptance; No classes in December; January - Respectful Communication; February - Healthy Interpersonal Boundaries; and March - Positive Thinking.

One aspect of the topic will be presented by Dr. Ellen M. Diana, Ph.D., DSMS Psychologist, at the beginning of the hour each week for 15-20 minutes. An activity and discussion period will follow. Please call or email Dr. Diana to reserve a spot since space is limited. There is no fee for the group. Participants should check in at the office and obtain a Visitor badge before each group.

Parents who are unable to attend the group are invited to submit questions, on the monthly topics, through school email to Dr. Diana at ediana@pvschools.net.
