PRE-COLLEGE SUMMER PROGRAMS

Colorado State University offers a variety of pre-college summer programs for high school students including:

THE SUMMER VET PROGRAM AND SCI-TREK:

High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors can participate in both of these summer programs. Although the programs can be taken separately, residence is only provided for students taking both. The Vet program gives students a look into the field of veterinary medicine at CSU. Participants meet professors, veterinary students, and practitioners to discuss possible careers. Special topics include: emergency medicine and first aid, equine reproduction, and cancer research in animals.

SciTrek involves students in the study of current topics including: spectroscopy, biogeochemistry of lakes and reservoirs, nanotechnology and enzymes, the science of atmospheric air pollution, the science of cell phones, hydration, material science in athletic equipment, buffers in biology, the science of anthocyanins, and tablet PCs.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN SUMMER MUSIC CAMP

This music camp is designed for students in 7th grade through seniors in high school to join with other talented musicians for an exciting week of performances and classes. The program is for students interested in Band, Orchestra, Choir, Musical Theatre, and Jazz Band.
