summer opportunities MULTICULTURAL YOUTH EXCHANGE SUMMER 2008 ART OF COMMUNITY SERVICE The MYX Art of Community Service program pairs American high school students between the ages of 14 and 18 years old with students from abroad and students from the host location to complete an art-based community service project. There are two opportunities available this year, one on the Navajo Nation in Arizona, and one in Ambatillo, Ecuador. Students do not have to have art experience to participate. Students choosing the Navajo Nation project will be working to improve the Tuba City Community Center wih a large, outdoor mural and a picnic area made out of recycled materials. Students in Ecuador will be working on the village one-room school and playground area.
