SUMMER IN SWITZERLAND

The Leysin American School in Switzerland offers two summer programs, the Alpine Exploration (ages 13-15), and the Alpine Challenge (ages 16-19) for high school students. Participants attend academic classes in the morning and group activities in the afternoons. The afternoon activities include a wide array of sports, arts and crafts, cooking and baking, and excursions to local places of interest. Evening and weekend activities are also planned.

Students may choose a general course of study or a specialized program from the following: Theatre International, Outdoor Leadership Adventure, SAT/ACT Preparation, and English-as-a-Second-Language. The academic class offerings also include IB Prep courses in Math, Creative Writing, and Extended Essay Prep. There are two sessions of classes with an optional 2-week Recreation and Culture Week scheduled in between sessions. During that week, students may take week long tours to France, Italy, England, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
