summer opportunities SAIL CARIBBEAN SUMMER 2008 SUMMER PROGRAM Sail Caribbean offers seven programs including sailing, scuba, watersports, leadership, marine biology, cultural immersion, and service learning to students from all over the world. Participants must be between the ages of 12 and 22 years old and although no diving or sailing experience is necessary, students should be comfortable in and around water. Safety is the first priority on all of the adventures and boats sail in fleets of 2 - 8 boats with students grouped with other students of similar age. Programs are from 10 - 27 days long and each program includes community service hours of between 5 and 40 hours. Some programs also offer academic credit. Sail Caribbean has programs in the British Virgin Islands, the Leeward Islands, the Windward Islands, and the Bahamas.
