summer opportunities UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH SUMMER 2008 SEWANEE YOUNG WRITERS CONFERENCE The University of the South offers Workshops in Fiction, Poetry, and Creative Nonfiction for any high school student who loves to write and wants to improve their skills. Participants choose a genre and focus on doing serious work on that genre during the program. To get the most out of the workshop, students are asked to read at least one book written by each workshop visitor before they arrive in Sewanee and attend a discussion on that book once they arrive. Students also experience campus life, recreational opportunities, and the beautiful outdoors surrounding the campus.
