The University of Maryland offers a 1-week summer program for high school females that are sophomores and juniors and considering engineering as a college major and career. Students will have the opportunity to meet other females interested in engineering and to experience college life. Many social activities are planned for the evenings.
Academic activities will include lab work, demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and team design projects. Students will also learn about the engineering degrees offered at University of Maryland which are: Aerospace Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
Program Dates: Session One - July 13 - July 19
Session Two - July 20 - July 26
Application Deadline: rolling with a priority date of 3/28/2008
