HOSPICE OF THE VALLEY TEEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

SUMMER 2008

TEEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Hospice of the Valley is looking for compassionate, mature high school students to volunteer their time to provide support and friendship to hospice patients. Volunteers must be able to complete an 18 hour orientation for which they recieve two Maricopa Community College credits.

Hospice of the Valley has 15 locations throughout the valley and volunteers can gain valuable insight into a career in healthcare. There is a scholarship opportunity for teens who volunteer at least 50 service hours during a 12 month period. There is also a pet program where volunteers can bring their pet (pets must be certified first) to provide comfort and companionship to hospice patients.
