Welcome!

Welcome to Miss Castellano's
Kindergarten Class!

We are off to a wonderful start of the year, and we have had a fantastic time getting to know each other here in Kindergarten.  Thanks to all families for supporting our young students' new adventure!

Electronic Newsletters/Flyers:
As this website will be home to pictures and classroom information, please check back periodically for electronic versions of our class and homeroom moms' newsletters, links for parents and students, and helpful websites:

*By clicking on the 'newsletters' tab of this website, you will find our monthly newsletters and other important information- these documents can be downloaded to your computer and are usually in a 'Word Document' format.

*Please be sure and periodically check the 'calendar' tab of this website; here, you will find important dates and reminders for upcoming events and daily special area schedule.  Double click on an event, and additional information may pop up.

*As I begin to gather photos, those students given permission might have their special picture under the 'class photos' tab!  Finally, for some at-home fun, students and parents might explore the 'web links' tab; here, there are educational websites that enhance the curriculum we are doing in class.

*PTA will now be sending out their newsletters electronically.  If you already sent your email address in to PTA, you should already be receiving electronic newsletters.  I have also placed an electronic copy under the 'newsletters' tab of our class website.  Every Tuesday is "PTA Update Day," where PTA will be emailing any important updates.  Hard copies of any flyers can be found in the kiosk near the front office.*

Please feel free to email me with questions in navigating this website.  Our school-wide goal this year is to communicate electronically, eliminating the need to copy so many papers!

Library Checkout
Students are now checking out one library book from the library.  Our class talked about how the best way to keep the book safe and always return it to school on time is to only take it out of his or her totebag when they read it, then put it back in the totebag again.  Library books are due on the next day we have library (see our class calendar).  Thank you for your help in teaching yoru child proper library book care and responsibility!

(While PTA provides wonderful events and fundraisers for our school, please consider joining the PTA if you have not yet done so.  PTA dedicates much time to creating exciting family activities and our students are very fortunate to participate in these special days.  Please take a moment to open the electronic version of PTA's flyers, which contain important dates and reminders for school-wide events (click on the newsletters tab).  There are many opportunities for parents to volunteer and get involved in our wonderful North Ranch community!)
