The Purpose of this page is to provide information about Choir
Seventh Grade Course Description
Students will be introduced to sight reading, music theory, and vocal techniques. The choirs will learn music from countries around the world as well as from our American heritage. There are no performances.
Grading
60% Class participation
A class participation grade is given at the end of each class period. A total of five points can be earned each day by participating and following class rules. If a student is absent they will be given one day for each day of absence to get make up work in. It is the student's responsibility to get the make up work turned in on time. Once the deadline is passed, makeup work will not be accepted.
40% Tests and Written Work
Tests and written assignments will be given. Tests may be written or oral and may include music theory, rhythm reading, and solfege.
Center Stage/Encore Choir
The students continue to learn sight singing, music theory, and vocal techniques. Basic theatre skills will be learned. Theatre skills and choral skills will be applied to performances
