*Create a special, quiet place for your child to study and do homework.
*Establish homework time-It does not have to be right after school. Some children benefit from and hour of play before starting homework.  Consider a written schedule for when and how long your child will study.
*Rewards for completing homework are great motivators.  For example, one hour of TV time or video game time.
*Be available to help your child with homework.
*Keep homework tools and materials at hand.  Have paper, sharpened pencils, a dictionary, and thesaurus close at hand.
