VISTA VERDE BOY'S PHYSICAL EDUCATION
We would like to welcome everyone back to school and hope that your summer was filled with relaxation and good memories.
This school year is already off to a great start. Our classes are filled with students who are eager to learn and come with a positive attitude. We are currently teaching Table Tennis, Weight Training, and Basketball.
All units are three weeks long. At the end of the first three weeks all classes rotate to a new unit. During each unit your son will be graded in four areas. Dressing for class, Participation, Skill, and a Written test.
We place a strong emphasis on attendance. Each day that a student is absent from school they loose FOUR points from 100 possible points. We grade on a 100-point scale. An example would be: If they miss three days of school they loose 12 points and have an 88 percentile. The good news is we have an ABSENCE MAKE UP policy that erases all of the lost points. For each day missed a 1/2 hour activity like jogging, biking, swimming, hiking, exercises, sports or HOUSEHOLD chores is required. There is an official ABSENT MAKE UP slip in the coach's office, or we will allow a note from the parent that lists the activity, the time spent and the parent/guardian signature.
Again, we are off to a GREAT school year. I can be reached at 602-449-5300 if you have additional questions.
