A Message From The Assistant Principal

As we enter November, I would like to remind parents about a major safety issue: traffic!  Please be aware that when dropping off, or picking up, refrain from using the teacher parking lots; vehicles need to stay on the surface streets.  Students that ride their bikes should walk them on and off campus and everyone should use the crosswalks when crossing all streets.

One of the most common issues of discipline issues I address is bullying and harassment.  I, and the counselors, made separate presentations at the beginning of the year explaining and addressing this topic.  All students were in-serviced on the definition, what to do, and possible consequences.  This issue is not treated lightly at Vista Verde.  We will be implementing the Olweus bullying program at the beginning of the second semester; be on the lookout for information regarding this.

I look forward to a fantastic end to the first semester.  I've seen many outstanding things from both our staff and students.  Everyone here on campus will continue to commit to make Vista Verde an institution of academic excellence.

As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Mr. Callahan
Assistant Principal
