Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Alisha Eisenstock.  This will be my sixth year teaching in Paradise Valley Unified School District.  I grew up and went to high school in the Philadelphia area and then attended the University of Arizona where I earned a degree in Political Science.  I am passionate about government and history.  I have worked on several election campaigns for State Senate and US House of Representatives.

My motto is to make learning relevant to the world today.  We have an enormous amount of history to cover this year.  To this regard, your children will have certain expectations in my classroom.

Students are expected to come to school prepared for class.  I expect students to have loose- leaf paper and pencils.  Colored pencils, markers, scissors and a ruler are suggested, but not required.  Students will be completing art type projects where these supplies will be very useful.

Students are expected to watch the local and national news.  We will be reading and discussing current events in class on a regular basis.

Students will have to complete a warm up question daily when they come into class. When a student is absent, it is up to the individual student to get the missed warm up question and answer.

VVMS follows the ABC Discipline policy.  This policy will be followed and strictly enforced in my classroom.  Please consult your child's school planner for information on this policy.

I expect respect for myself and for all others in the classroom and in the halls.

Your childÕs education is a two way street.  You may email me at
aeisenstock@pvschools.net  or call the school number 602-449-5300.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  In addition, I must be able to contact you regarding your childÕs academic progress or behavior.  Please fill out the information on the attached sheet.

My goal this year is to have your student successfully complete American History and be in tune with the link between current and past history.

I am looking forward to a great 2008-2009 year!

Sincerely,

Alisha Eisenstock
